Drafting
Drafting means to make a mold according to the drawings from the designer. This is the first process of jewelry manufacturing and the key of the whole processes. There are four kinds of drafting: hand drafting, wax carving drafting, computer drafting and laser drafting.
Abrasion
Abrasion is a technique doing surface treatment to semi-finished products. It removes the dirt on the surface, eliminates the defects of the surface and makes trimming to the blanks to make the surface of blanks smooth. The procedures are: abrading, brightening, and adjusting pins, shapes or tongue pieces. After this process, these semi-finished products will be sent to welding, gemstone setting or polishing according to their designs.
Gemstone setting
Gemstone setting is to set stones (mainly diamonds and colored gemstones) into the jewelry to make the jewelry more wonderful. The quality of gemstone setting shows the techniques of the jewelry making and the level of artistic heights, and affects the quality of the whole piece of jewelry. We have three kinds of setting: hand setting, micro setting and wax setting. Micro setting is to set gemstones with the help of a microscope. Gemstones micro-set are arranged compactly without showing the metal under the gemstones, which increase the sense of beauty for the jewelry.
Plating
After special QC inspection, semi-finished products will be sent to the very important process: plating. The plating workshop in Poyijim is like a plating factory and is equipped with advanced machines, for example, thickness testers. It has built a lab in the workshop. All the plating materials are monitored closely to ensure the thickness and quality of plating. There are many procedures in plating process. Workers need to fasten the semi-finished products onto frameworks, do plating treatments for several times in different jar, take them off the frameworks and then do QC inspections to them. Products which need color separation will undergo an additional procedure of greasing. Sandblasting is also done to some products to achieve special effects. So far, we can provide different colors and thicknesses to clients for choosing.
Colored painting
Some products need colored painting according to the designs. Workers paint the surface by hand to get fine patterns, even with subtle expressions on human faces. Colored painting includes the procedures of color mixing, painting, color coating by oven and paint eyes, eyebrows and mouths.
Packaging
This is the last process before shipping. Products will be inspected as soon as they reach packaging workshop. Workers do gemstone pasting, blacking or assembling according to their designs. Then workers put these finished products into boxes and send them for re-inspection. Re-inspectors double check and and send them to packing so that they can be shipped.
Personalized services
Poyijim provides personalized services including selecting birthstones and making personalized engravings. Customers can choose to set their birthstones into the jewelry or engrave their own message on the surface, which makes their jewelry unique.
